Electrolysis involves a licensed electrologist inserting a sterile probe, which is the thickness of a hair, into the follicle opening down to the dermal papilla or root. An electrical current is applied to destroy the papilla and loosen the hair from the follicle. The hair is then removed. Many hairs can be eliminated with only one treatment depending on the hair type, but others will need multiple treatments.
